Ingo Maurer, born in 1932, is a renowned lighting designer who began his career in 1966, focusing on the creation of innovative lamps and lighting systems. He founded his company, which distributes his works worldwide. Maurer is known for his creative lighting concepts and the production of unique pieces for both private and public spaces.
Among his most iconic creations are Bulb (1966), a playful interpretation of the light bulb, the low-voltage halogen system YaYaHo (1984), and Lucellino (1992), a whimsical lamp in the shape of a bird.
His works have gained international recognition, with several pieces included in the permanent design collection of MoMA in New York. In 2010, Maurer received the prestigious Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, further acknowledging his influence and contribution to contemporary design.
