For almost thirty years, Roda has produced outdoor furniture with care, quality and love of design, transforming each and every product into a unique synthesis of tradition and innovation. What distinguishes Roda is the belief that garden furniture should fit seamlessly into the context of the home with no difference between inside and outside, or between IN and OUT, as the company's founder, Roberto Pompa, likes to say. Roda products are designed to last and blend with any context. Teak, stone, solid wood, leather and woven elements are combined to create timeless and weather-resistant armchairs, sofas, chairs, and tables.
Roda chose the internationally renowned designer Rodolfo Dordoni as its art director to explore the concept of interior/exterior continuity with determination. Since 2005, Dordoni has interpreted that concept with elegance and aesthetic refinement. Dordoni's Network collection reinvents itself with every new catalog. Other renowned outdoor furniture designers - Gordon Guillaumier, Maria Gabriella Zecca and the Lievore Altherr Molina studio - have joined Dordoni in his commitment to integrating Italian lines and international forms with striking aesthetic impact and sobriety.
Roda design in the garden: outdoors with a Mediterranean flavor
The Network collection perfectly represents the Roda style and is a real must for connoisseurs. For more than ten years, its elegance has graced the gardens and terraces of people who want to surround themselves with beauty. The garden sunbed with its reclining teak structure designed by Rodolfo Dordoni distinguishes any poolside with the essence of the company's design philosophy. With its solid teak structure, elastic straps that ensure exceptional comfort, cushions made with fabrics designed for outdoor use harmonized by a clean, linear and elegant design envelope and cradle users during well-deserved moments of relax.
Roda has carefully merged different but connected aspects of furniture design by conceiving outdoor space like an interior, promoting a spontaneous way of living that savors the beauty of velvety lines and robust materials.
All Roda collections are distinguished by sophisticated Mediterranean taste that complements the environment, transmitting the perception of harmony, the idea of identity and love for versatility, without ever forgetting the quality of the materials used. Conceived by Rodolfo Dordoni and presented at the 2017 Salone del Mobile, the PIPER collection, whose name derives from the use of tubular aluminum elements (extruded, bent and then painted in Roda style), is an elegant combination of form, material and color. Only great experience and unbounded passion can lead to such results. Roda is a devoted representative of an Italian spirit that always wants to surprise and delight without relinquishing its deep-rooted traditions and heritage.
Roda: Made in Italy garden furniture since 1990
In 1990, Roberto Pompa had clear ideas about the goals to be achieved and the road lying ahead when he opened Roda in Gavirate in the province of Varese. The company immediately revealed its cosmopolitan character and attention to design, quality and detail. It wasn't long before Roda emerged on the national and international outdoor furniture scene, thanks to the highly valued use of solid teak. In 2004, what had until then been a spark in Roberto Pompa's imagination took form; he believed that garden and indoor furniture should share the same backdrop with seamless functional and visual flow between the IN and the OUT. This is how the new project was born.
Interior Garden graces outdoor space with furniture that could also be used in an indoor space, an idea that Rodolfo Dordoni translated into the Network collection. And that is how Roda became the first Italian manufacturer to choose creative homogeneity instead of stylistic fragmentation. This concept was definitively codified in the 2007 catalog thanks to the contribution of illustrious collaborators like Maria Gabriella Zecca and the Lievore Altherr Molina studio. Style, customized fabrics, details and a pioneering vision of outdoor design make Roda an undisputed leader in its field.
