For over 25 years, Slamp has been operating in the design lighting sector, perpetuating Made-in-Italy excellence by combining artistic approaches with tailoring skills to create fixtures with a distinctive and versatile style. Slamp's philosophy motivates the company to experiment with innovative material expressions and exciting aesthetic suggestions. The brand welcomes the multiple visions of architects and graphic and industrial designers into its creative department. Slamp offers a wide range of interior fixtures. The company's pendant lamps are recognized by the formal variety of lines, colours and materials and their whimsical, classy and understatedly chic style. Similarly, the brand's evocative ceiling lighting expresses a concept that belongs more to the world of art than to design. Slamp offers unique solutions for wall, floor and table lamps, enhanced by the skilful use of materials like plastic, acrylic, glass and metal.

Some Slamp products have become design icons. Clizia is a rich collection of lamps that reflect the forms of nature. Available in various versions, Clizia is a cloud that captures sunlight or light-filtering foliage. Available in transparent, black and gold versions, Aria is a luminous architectural structure designed by Zaha Hadid. As light and dynamic as a ballerina, La Belle Étoile is an unbreakable, lightweight ceiling and pendant lamp, entirely handmade in the Slamp atelier. Nuvem is a splendid sculpture made of 1 square-metre hexagonal modules that can be connected in all directions to create luminous ceilings with infinite configurations.

Slamp lighting since 1994

Slamp is the brainchild of Roberto Ziliani, who - drawing on decades of experience as a set designer for some of the industry's biggest brands - decided to create his own lighting company. Right from the start, the founder's idea was to stage a new approach to designer lighting geared towards daring and unconventional art design. In 1994, the Arte collection marked the brand's debut with the Slamp Tube project, an unbreakable cylindrical lamp with modern and environmentally versatile characteristics. In 1996, Slamp undertook an important collaboration with world-famous architect Alessandro Mendini, whose project contributed substantially to the company's growth.

In the early 2000s, Slamp felt the need to reconfigure its catalogue, moving away from the original models to promote new collections with increased formal dynamism. At the time, the brand created some of the lines that would later make its fortunes, particularly Bach, Diamond and Bali.

In the following years, the Slamp project became increasing methodical. In 2009, the company participated in Euroluce, the Biennial Lighting Exhibition at the Milan Furniture Fair, and began to articulate its catalogue in an even more versatile way, welcoming the sinuous and captivating lines of the Cactus, Aurora and Goccia collections.

Along with growth came international awards. In 2009, the Veli line received its first Red Dot Design Award. Since 2012, the company has become increasingly global thanks to its partnership with Zaha Hadid. She designed the Aria and Avia collections presented at the 2013 Salone del Mobile and later exhibited at the Danish Architecture Center in Copenhagen, the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery and the Dongdaemun Design Museum in Seoul. The brand's definitive consecration came in 2016 when Slamp was presented at Casa Italia at the Rio Olympic Games, where interviews with Italian athletes and all related events took place. The new collections Chantal, La Lollo and Mille Bolle were specially created for the occasion.

2019 was another turning point for Slamp. The brand, now established globally thanks to its previous success, filed for two new patents and won its second Red Dot Design Award for the Hugo collection. To crown the celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary, a new headquarters near Rome was inaugurated on September 8th of that same year. The 8,000 square metre factory stands out for its extraordinary technological innovation and the professional profiles of the creatives called upon to work on the new project.
