Lago: Modular Italian-Made Furniture
Lago is an Italian company that designs and manufactures modular furniture with a focus on Made in Italy. The company offers dynamic, flexible furniture solutions, perfect not only for all areas of the home but also for public spaces such as hotels, restaurants, shops, and offices. Lago’s modular systems allow for endless furniture compositions, giving each space a unique and innovative look.
Lago's Design
Lago's design philosophy goes beyond individual products, extending to versatile modular systems that can be integrated to furnish both domestic and commercial environments. The 36e8® system, based on a 36.8 cm square module, has revolutionized storage solutions by offering greater creative freedom. Other modular systems like Air, LagoLinea, and Et Voilà provide aesthetic and dimensional codes that can be combined to create complete interiors, from living rooms to kitchens, bedrooms, children’s rooms, bathrooms, and home offices.
The Company
Lago was officially founded in 1976 by Giuseppe Lago, though its roots trace back to the late 19th century with Policarpo Lago, a craftsman who worked in Venetian noble villas and churches. Over the generations, the company expanded its production to include bedroom furniture and entryway pieces. By the 1980s, Lago offered furniture for both the bedroom and living areas. In 2006, now led by the fourth generation, the company became a joint-stock company (S.p.A.) and entered the international market, with a strong digital and web-focused communication strategy. Today, Lago is managed by siblings Daniele Lago (CEO and Head of Design), Franco Lago (President), and Rosanna Lago (Control Manager), supported by a young and dynamic team. The brand operates in over 20 countries with more than 900 selected stores, including flagship stores, and has completed over 150 projects in hotels, B&Bs, commercial spaces, restaurants, bars, and offices in cities like Rome, London, Paris, and Saigon.
